ONEONTA – Rita Monahan Armstrong, 91, of Oneonta, NY, passed away Sunday, July 19, 2015.
She was born on July 5, 1924 in Auburn, NY, the daughter of Thomas and Carrie (McCabe) Monahan.
Rita was a retired Registered Nurse from A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital, Oneonta.
Rita was a loving and nurturing mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed reading, writing, travelling and volunteered in many capacities throughout her life.
She is survived by her son, Patrick Armstrong; daughters, Maureen Spaziani and Eileen Tracy; 6 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
There will be no calling hours.
A memorial mass will be 10:15 a.m., Monday, August 24, 2015 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 39 Walnut St., Oneonta, with the Reverend David Mickiewicz, as celebrant.
Interment will follow at Oneonta Plains Cemetery.
Arrangements are by Lewis, Hurley & Pietrobono Funeral Home, 51 Dietz St., Oneonta.
