WORCESTER – Robert J. Basola, 68, passed away Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital in Oneonta.
He was born June 29, 1941 in New York City, the son of Lester Basola Sr. and Marie (Johnson) Basola.
Robert served the United States National Guard.
He married Carolyn Silvernail on June 29, 1967 at the United Methodist Church in Worcester.
Robert was employed for the ONC BOCES where he taught auto mechanics.
He was passionate about antique automobiles and loved working on them.
He was a member of the Curve Dash Oldsmobile Club and the Model T Ford Club.
Robert is survived by his wife, Carolyn of Worcester; a brother, James Basola of Florida; two nieces, Karen and Lisa; and his beloved cat, Pooh.
He was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Lester Basola, Jr.
Calling hours will be at the E.J. Skinner Funeral Chapel in Worcester on Sunday, December 27, 2009 from 5 p.m. to the Memorial Service at 6 p.m., with the Rev. Susan Wenner, pastor of Worcester United Methodist Church.
