Obituary

EAST WORCESTER – Robert L. Cassidy, 71, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 27, 2008 at A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital, Oneonta.

He was born October 9, 1936 in Elmont, the son of William and Marie (Roll) Cassidy.

He was a United States Army veteran, serving in the Korean War.

Bob called him self a jack of all trades, master of none.

He was employed at Glen Oaks Co-op in Queens, prior to moving to the Worcester area.

He is survived by his significant other, "his better half" Joanna Cardosanto of East Worcester; children and step-children, Lee-Anne and Sherri-Lyn Cassidy, both of Long Island, Debra and Larry Eichler of East Worcester, Barbara Burton of Schenevus, Robert Burton of Westford, and Eugene VanHaaren of Bethpage; his grandchildren whom he loved very much, Gianna, Robert, Lauren and Evan; his brother, Buddy and Rose Cassidy of Long Island; two sisters, Eileen and Jack White of Bethpage and Delores of California; sister-in-law, Judy Cassidy of Florida; his first wife, Marilyn Cassidy of Long Island; many nieces and nephews; good friends, Gary, Caroline and Josie; and Midnight, his dog.

He was predeceased by his brothers, Jimmy and Donald and sisters, Marie and Janet.

Calling hours will be held form 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, July 31, 2008 at the E.J. Skinner Funeral Chapel in Worcester.

A memorial mass will be 11 a.m. Friday, August 1, 2008 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Worcester, with the Reverend Edward Golding as celebrant.
