Robert John
Daly
May 8, 1956 – August 11, 2019
WORCESTER - Robert John (Bob) Daly went to his final rest on August 11, 2019 following a long illness.
Bob was born in Brooklyn, NY on May 8, 1956 to Francis Daly and Margaret (Tuite) Daly.
He was a graduate of Archbishop Malloy High School and Queensborough Community College. He later became a NYS Court Officer. He married his high school sweetheart and soulmate Elizabeth (Libasci) on October 22, 1977. They lived in Middle Village, Queens, where they both grew up until 1999 when they moved to Worcester, NY.
Bob had a wide range of knowledge, from when and where to find the wild red and white trillium flowers in the spring to how to adjust a Holley carburetor to identifying military aircraft. He was an especially avid student of World War II, and a voracious reader who always had a book by his side. He generously shared his wealth of knowledge with anyone who asked.
He enjoyed NASCAR, classic rock and muscle cars. Bob had a tender heart for the many abused and abandoned animals he took in, especially his beloved pitbull's Amy and Abby who were there to greet him on the other side. His brash exterior belied a sentimental soul.
Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Elizabeth; his sisters, Mary (Peter) Schloth of Leland, NC, Margie Daly of Rockaway Park, NY; brothers-in-law, Bill (Jean) Libasci of Ivyland, PA and Rev. Bishop Peter Libasci of Manchester, NH; sister-in-law, Mary (Scott) Lobel of Middle Island, NY; and many nieces, nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews.
He is predeceased by his parents, Frank and Marge Daly; his mother-and father-in-law, William and Florence Libasci; and his sister-in-law, Lorraine (Libasci) Hardy.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your local Animal Shelter.
