DECATUR – Robert E. Hunt, 48, passed away peacefully at home on July 15, 2014 with his family by his side after a lengthy illness.
He was born October 16, 1965 in Cobleskill, the son of Ronald and Nancy (Crapser) Hunt.
Robert was a proud graduate of Worcester Central School, Class of 1987 and was a member of the East Worcester United Methodist Church. He lived a quiet happy life on the family farm. His life's story was published by his mother through her daily journal and notes, "Love Lifts the Heart". A second book was also released, a sequel to the first. He was known for his famous Teddy Bears; loved to embroider, sew and do a good word search.
His is survived by his mother, Nancy Hunt; his siblings, Fred Hunt, Ron and Jamie Hunt, Tom and Brenda Hunt, Rhonda and David Ferris and Heather and Stephen Fancher; nieces and nephews, Joe and Shannon and their sons, Carter and Benjamin; Danielle, Travis, Lance, Joshua, Tommy Jr., Darren, Matthew, Trevor and Connor; also several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was predeceased by his father, Ronald; a nephew, Michael Ferris and his grandparents.
Calling hours will be 1 to 3 p.m., Sunday, July 20, at the E.J. Skinner Co Funeral Chapel, 155 Main St., Worcester.
A graveside service will follow at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, at the Maple View Cemetery, North Road in East Worcester, with the Rev. Nancy Dulkis, officiating.
