Obituary

WORCESTER – Robert F. (Moose) Davis, 84, passed away peacefully at Chestnut Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Home in Oneonta on May 7, 2023.

A native of Decatur, he was the son of the late John and Mary (Kobe) Davis Jr.  He grew up in Worcester, graduating from Worcester Central School, being active in all sports, band, orchestra, chorus and the Schenevus Drum and Bugle Corp.

Robert was predeceased by his loving wife of 42 years, Mildred Milavec.

In 2002, he retired from Lancaster Development as a superintendent.  His joys were his family, friends, golfing, playing the drums, (he was famously known for his drum solo on "Wipeout") playing and teaching others how to play the spoons, the boomba, and perfectly restoring his canary yellow Corvette.

He is survived by his sister, Patricia Worley of Georgia; stepchildren, Joseph McLaughlin Jr. of Worcester, Cheryl and husband Phillip Peeters of Worcester, Kelly and husband Randall Reed of Oneonta; cousins, several nieces, nephews and grandchildren.

A celebration of life mass will be held 12:00 p.m. on Friday June 16, 2023, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 201 Main Street, Worcester.

His family thanks the Worcester Emergency Squad, the staff at Chestnut Park and caring friends during his final days.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Worcester Emergency Squad, PO Box 191, Worcester, N.Y. 12197 or St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery Fund, 201 Main Street, Worcester, N.Y. 12197
