Obituary

WESTFORD – Robert William Hanus, 70, went to be with the Lord November 18, 2013, surrounded by his family at his son's home in Westford.

He was born May 24, 1943 in Evanston, Illinois, the son of Robert P. and Kathryn (Raymond) Hanus.

Bob married Frances A. Minarcik at St. Stephen's Church in Des Plains, IL.

Bob worked for the first McDonald's established in the U.S. and became assistant manager for Walgreen's before opening an old fashioned ice cream parlor in Richmond, Illinois, which he ran for 18 years. When Bob had a personal encounter with the Lord Jesus, his desire was to see people come to the same experience. Bob gave up everything to go into full time ministry with his wife, bringing the Good News to all 50 states, Canada, Mexico and Peru.

He loved to serve both family and strangers alike. One of his greatest joys was spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Frances A. Hanus; their children, Robert and Cori Hanus of Utopia, TX, Jeff and Lisa Hanus of Belvidere, IL, Patrick and Christine Hanus of Westford; grandchildren, Timothy, Patrick Jr., Sean, Dominic, Gabriel and Mary Catherine; his mother, Kathryn Jane Hanus of Watertown, WI; as well as eight brothers and sisters and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by an infant son, Joseph; infant twin daughters, Emily and Anna; and his father, Robert P. Hanus.
