Worcester – Robert F. Milavec, 82, passed away at home on November 22, 2019.
He was born August 18, 1937 in Central Bridge, the son of Frank and Mary (Muehl) Milavec.
Bob graduated from Worcester Central School, Class of 1955.
He married Nancy Green on June 3, 1961 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Worcester.
He was a member of the United States Army Reserves serving from 1955 to 1963.
Bob and Nancy owned and operated the family dairy farm in Worcester. He was a member of the Otsego County Farm Bureau, Otsego County Cooperative Extension, Town of Worcester Planning Board and the Worcester Men's Bowling League. He loved to read, enjoyed camping, and any gathering of his family. For many years h e was the primary support for his granddaughter, Melissa. Above all, his family meant the world to him.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy of Worcester; his daughter, Lauren and Gregg Horhota; his son, Jeffrey Milavec and Mira Djurdjevich; grandchildren, Marian, Melissa, Maci, Malina, Garett, Rachel, Allison, and Elijah; great-grandchildren, Sebastian and Miles; his siblings, Catherine Rooney, Patricia and Charles Golding, William and Jane Milavec; brother-in-law, Timothy and Barbara Green; many nieces and nephews; and special friends, Jim and Mary T. Zaengle and family.
He was predeceased by his sister, Mildred Davis; brother-in-law, George M. Rooney and sister-in-law, Barbara Green.
Calling hours will be 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at the Heller & Skinner Funeral Home, 155 Main St., Worcester.
The funeral mass will be Noon, Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 201 Main St., Worcester, with the Fr. Edward Golding, as celebrant.
Burial with military honors will be 2 p.m., Saturday, September 11, 2021 at the Elk Creek Cemetery, Schenevus.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be to the Worcester Emergency Squad, PO Box 191, Worcester, NY 12197 or to St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 201 Main St., Worcester, NY 12197.
