Obituary

Worcester – Robert W. Evans, 73, passed away unexpectedly on November 5, 2019 at A.O. Fox Hospital, Oneonta.

Bob was born April 16, 1946 the youngest son of Eddie R. and Flora Evans. He was a life long resident of Worcester.

In 1963, Bob met Barbara Haskell in high school. They were married at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Worcester on August 26, 1967. They were high school sweethearts for 52 years.

Bob began his career in advertising in 1969 at WDOS, Oneonta. He was instrumental in the implementation of the first FM Radio Station in Oneonta, WSRK. During his career in advertising sales, Bob worked in all aspects of media; Radio, TV and Print.

He was an avid hunter. He had a passion for turkey hunting and was a past president of the local chapter of The National Wild Turkey Federation in our area. He loved to fish with his grandchildren. His family was everything to him.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Barbara J. Evans; his two daughters, Kara Ann Evans Boljevic and her husband, Nick, and Kristin Leigh Evans; his grandchildren, Nicholas Robert, Ariana Lauren, and Nathan Omer Boljevic; his brother Michael and Sandy Haskell; sisters-in-law, Nedra Savoia, Cynthia Willenbacher, Sandra and Patrick Lyga, Deborah and Johnnie Sadlon; his nieces and nephews, Stephen and Ali George, Stacy Bissoon, Patti Ann and Lisa Haskell, Patrick and Chad Lyga, Joshua and Brittney Case; 8 great nieces and nephews; brother, Donald Evans; aunt, Kathleen Haskell and beloved aunt, Joan Haskell, whom he was very fond of.

Predeceased by his parents; "father and mother", Robert and Ann Haskell; brother, Ransom Evans; and uncle, Fredrick Haskell.

Calling hours will be 3 to 5 p.m., Sunday, November 10, at the Heller & Skinner Funeral Home, 155 Main St., Worcester.

The funeral mass will be 2 p.m Monday, November 11, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 201 Main St., Worcester, with the Rev. Edward Golding, as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery.

Donation may be made to the American Heart Association or St. Judes Children's Hospital in Bob's memory.
