Obituary

COBLESKILL – Robert M. Wilson, 34, of Hammerstone Apartments in Cobleskill, died Saturday, February 25, 2012 at Bassett Healthcare in Cooperstown, of cardiac arrest due to complications from a long illness.



Robert was born December 25, 1977 in Daytona Beach, Fla. to James R. Wilson and Janice Longtin Donlin.



Survivors include his parents, James R. Wilson of Davenport and Janice Longtin Donlin and step-father, Robert Donlin of Otego; sister, Sarah K. Wilson (Thomas Lihn) and nephew, Ethan Lihn, all of Unadilla; aunts, Sharon Barrie of Pearson, Fla. and Dr. Beth Ravitt of Closter, N.J.; cousins, Teresa Gilotti of Deleon Springs, Fla. and Lauren Franceskin of New Jersey; grandmother, Emily R. Longtin of Otego; step-brothers and sisters, Bobby Donlin of El Paso, TX, Beth Donlin of Otego, Mariah Donlin of Jefferson, Heather and Michael Donlin of Buffalo; and his bird, Buddy.



He was predeceased by his grandparents, Woodrow and Kathryn Wilson of Murrells Inlet, SC and grandfather, Joseph Longtin of Otego.



Robert attended Charlotte Valley School in Davenport with the class of 1996. Due to illness, he was unable to graduate with his class and obtained his GED in 1997. He was employed with RSS, working catered affairs and on the warm line.



Recently Robert had become a Christian and was happy with his church group. He enjoyed reading, especially Stephen King, painting, his collection of movies, joking, laughing and a good comedy. He was an avid New York Yankees and New York Giants fan and had a sizable collection of their memorabilia. He was very happy the Giants won the Superbowl this season. Always a kind and gentle person, he was devoted to his family, had a wide circle of friends and was a child sponsor. Robert was very proud to be an uncle to his only nephew, it was his greatest joy.



Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 1, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Lewis, Hurley & Pietrobono Funeral Home, Oneonta.
