Otego - Robin Leigh (Chisholm) Briguglio, 69, passed away October 28, 2024 at A.O. Fox Hospital in Oneonta.
She was born September 29, 1955, in Mineola, New York, the daughter of Paul and Jessie (Durham) Chisholm.
She grew up in Manhasset, New York and graduated from Manhasset High School in 1973. She continued her education at Stony Brook University, Brown University, and Katherine Gibbs School.
Robin married Joseph Briguglio on October 20, 1979 in East Meredith, New York. Robin loved listening to music both live and while on drives with her husband Joe, of 45 years. Robin, with her husband, own Ace Glass Company in Oneonta. She also raised and bred champion Labrador retrievers for 20 years. She was an artist and member of the Artisans Guild in Oneonta for 10 years, showing and selling her artwork for many to enjoy. Robin taught art classes and influenced many students to pursue art throughout her life. Her pride was her accomplishment in her most important job of raising her children. She felt very blessed to be able to care for not only her children, but her grandchildren, whom she loved and inspired so much. Her children and grandchildren were the brightest lights of her life. Her grace and resilience in the face of adversity will forever be an inspiration. There are so many significant people in her life that she cherished for numerous reasons.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph Briguglio; their children, Jaime (Thomas) Caruso of Briarcliff Manor, Jaclyn (David) Sander of Oneonta, and Joseph (Nicole) Briguglio of Oneonta; her grandchildren, Leo Caruso, Nora, Evelyn, Phoebe and Jack Sander, and Joseph and Lily Briguglio; her sister, Michele Leavitt; her in-laws, Jim (Christy) Briguglio, Julianne (Don) Legg, and Mary-Jo Briguglio and Vincent Fayad; and many adored nieces and nephews. In addition to family, she leaves her rescues, Tilly and Charlie, who were her constant cuddle companions.
She was predeceased by her parents, Paul and Jessie "Jackie" Chisholm; her brother Dr. Paul Stuart Chisholm, Jr.; nephew, Kristopher Mansfield, and her parents-in-law James and Ann Briguglio.
Calling hours will be from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. with a funeral service directly following at 5 p.m. on Friday, November 1, 2024 at the Lewis, Hurley & Pietrobono Funeral Home, 51 Dietz Street, Oneonta. The Rev. Julianne Legg will be officiating.
Interment will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Oneonta 11 am, November 9th, with the Rev. Mark Montfort officiating.
