OTEGO – Ronald W. Coe Sr., 62, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at the Tri-Town Hospital in Sidney.
He was born September 28, 1946 in Walton, the son of William and Sarah (Crandell) Coe.
He was a United States Army Veteran.
Ron was at one time a resident of the Oneonta and Canajoharie areas. He was employed at Life Savers in Canajoharie for 20 years, then in the early 1990's with his wife, Eva, started a trucking company, which he was currently running.
Ron loved to dance, travel and play cards. He had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. Although his greatest love was by far his family and spending time with his grandchildren, whether it be going for a walk or a ride on his motorcycle.
He is survived by his mother and step-father, Sally and George Knapp of Oneonta; two brothers, Robert and Sharon Coe of Indiana and Ward and Diane Coe of Kirkwood; three sisters, Lillian Yager of Oneonta, Dorothy and Charlie Wilber of Otego and Cindy and Earl Booth of Tennessee; his former wife, friend and mother of his children, Eva Coe of Oneonta; their children, Sandra and Jerry Ward of Canajoharie, Tammy Comins of Gainesville, Fla., Bonnie and Timothy Schilde of Cobleskill and Ronald Jr. and Allison Coe of Oneonta; grandchildren, Alicia, Jonathon, James, Jessica, Alex, Craig, Travis, Tylan, Kealy, Claire, Adell, and Veronica; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father, William Coe.
Calling hours will be on Monday, November 17, 2008 at the Lewis, Hurley & Pietrobono Funeral Home, from 11 a.m. to the funeral service at 12 p.m., with the Rev. Tim Thurber, pastor at the West Oneonta Baptist Church, officiating.
Interment with military honors will follow at the Walton Cemetery.
