Maryland – Rose Marie Millias, 80, passed away November 3, 2022 at Robinson Terrace Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Stamford.
She was born April 17, 1942 in Gilboa, the daughter of Joseph and Esther (Lubatti) Boschetti.
Rose grew up in Oneonta. She graduated from Oneonta High School, Class of 1962. She then married Thomas Pondolfino and together they had a son Thomas Andrew Pondolfino.
Rose started working at the age of 15 at Winney's Hotel, Diana's Restaurant, and her father-in-law's establishment, Tommy's Place. Rose went on to receive a cosmetology license and worked at the beauty shop Cloud Spun in the Pyramid Mall, later opening her own shop on Main Street.
In 1976 she and her husband Richard Millias packed up the family and moved across the country to California. They settled in Oceanside where she managed the Tossa de Mar apartment complex.
In 1981 they moved back to Oneonta. They bought their home on Goodyear Lake, and opened the Pour House on River Street where she operated it for over 20 years.
Rose Loved Family and spent most of her retirement enjoying her grandchildren .
She is survived by her son, Tom "Andy" and his wife, Amy Pondolfino of New Berlin; grandchildren, Stacey (Brian) Knowles of New Hampshire, Thomas Aaron and Everett Andrew Pondolfino of New Berlin; great grandchildren, Elly Green, Kevin Handley, Linda Handley, Morgan Knowles of New Hampshire and Monica Luce of Maine; great-great grandchildren, TJ, Autumn, Melody, Freya, Josiah and Teddy; her brother, Lenny Boschetti of Texas and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Richard Millias and her siblings, Emma Parsons, Armando Boschetti, Joe Boschetti, Eddie Boschetti, Quinto Boschetti, Tony Boschetti, Jenny Wakin and Alec Boschetti.
There will be a graveside service 11 AM Saturday, November 12 at the Oneonta Plains Cemetery. Rose's great granddaughter Elly Green will be officiating. Please feel free to bring your own chair.
