Rowena S. Tauzel's Obituary
WORCESTER – Rowena S. Tauzel, 89, passed away Sunday, September 30, 2007 at the A.O. Fox Nursing Home in Oneonta.
Rowena was born March 18, 1918 in Hartwick, to Lyman J. and Avis (Wright) Snyder.
At an early age the family moved to Roseboom and later to Westford. She attended and graduated from Westford High School in 1935.
In her early years she was a hair dresser in Oneonta and then married Karl Tauzel in 1946. They moved to Worcester the next year and remained there the rest of their lives.
Rowena was predeceased by her husband, Karl in February of 2002; her parents, and a brother Henry Snyder of Westford.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Karlene and John Stokes of Daly City, CA; and by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
There will be no calling hours.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, October 9, 2007 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Worcester, which she was a member. The Reverend Edward Golding will be the celebrant.
Interment will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Main St., Worcester or the Worcester Emergency Squad, PO Box 191, Worcester, NY 12197.
