WORCESTER - Roxanne E. Shafer, 56, of Selma, NC, formerly of Worcester, NY, passed away on Tuesday morning, November 20, 2012, at her home in Selma. She had the comfort of her loving family by her side.

She was born in 1956, in Kingston, NY, the daughter of David and Veronica Swart.

She was employed for many years at G&I Homes in Oneonta, NY and Scholet Furniture, in Oneonta and Cobleskill, NY.

She is survived by her husband, Richard Shafer; daughters, Alicia Denegar of Cocoa, FL, Roxanne Owen of Wendell, NC and Jennifer Provenzano of Worcester; sisters, Brenda Jones, Virginia Baystr, and Melissa Nilsen; brother, David Swart, and grandchildren, Broden Derby and James and Mariah Provenzano, and many more family and friends.

Memorial services will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at E.J. Skinner Funeral Chapel in Worcester, NY with Rev. Judith Thistle, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 5432, Washington, DC 55235.
