DAVENPORT – Russell J. Smith, Sr., 39, passed away Sunday, March 22, 2015 at home.
He was born August 24, 1975 in Syracuse, the son of John F. Harrington and Connie Alger.
Russell was a dairy farmer and more recently was an independent contractor, owning Smith Construction, truly a master of all trades, with his specialty in stone work.
He loved his horses and was a member of Pony Pulls Association.
He is survived by his loving family, his children, Sarah Smith and Russell J. Smith, Jr. of Davenport; his mother, Connie Mokay of Oneonta; his sister, Amy and Harold Fancher of New Berlin; his brothers, John Harrington Jr. of Myrtle Beach, SC, Kenneth and Tina Smith of Oneonta, and Robert and Jolie Smith of Schenectady; nieces and nephews, Ashley, Brittni, Kenny, Asher, and Jacob; great-niece and nephew, Keona and Hunter; the mother of his children, Patricia McNeilly of Franklin, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and beloved friends.
He is predeceased by his father, John F. Harrington, and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, a trust fund for Sarah and Russell will be set up in care of Connie Mokay.
