Salvatore Nigrelli passed away August 27, 2016 at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown, after a long illness.
He was born August 28, 1938 in Jersey City, NJ, to Albert and Angelina (Mazzoni) Nigrelli. He graduated from Union Hill High School in June 1957.
He then spent time in the United States Army. Upon returning home to Union City he joined his father in the family barbershop.
He married Evelyn Eisen and they had 3 daughters and later divorced. They moved to Phoenix, AZ in the 1970's; then to San Diego, CA where he spent close to 30 years. He remarried Barbara Morehouse Taylor. When they retired they moved back to Oneonta, Barbara's hometown.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara; his 3 daughters, Denise (Bruce) Greathouse of Blue Springs, MO, Toni-Ann (Richard) Munholand of Independence, MO, Tracey (Reggie) Walton of Marshall, MO; his stepson, David Taylor of Imperial Beach, CA and his stepdaughter, Rebecca LeTourneau of San Jose, CA; grandchildren, Joshua Estill and Chelsea Cole, Sydney, Ben and Nick Greathouse, Reagan and Skylar Walton and Taylor and Sierra LeTourneau.
Sal had a great sense of humor and enjoyed life and loved his pasta. He loved and spoiled his Saint Bernard, Amari, who he took for numerous walks around West Oneonta.
No service is planned at this time. A memorial will be held sometime in the future.
