Obituary

DAVENPORT – Samuel Slovinsky, 85, passed away Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at home after a long illness.


He was born July 17, 1930 in Montreal, Canada, the son of Issie and Ray (Dorfman) Slovinsky.


Samuel married Pamela Persch from Gloversville, NY on July 2, 1979 in New York City.


Samuel a.k.a. Stanley Dean was a professional stand up comedian. He made several appearances on The Ed Sullivan Show and worked all the major night clubs in the United States, as well as Playboy Clubs across Europe and the United States. He also entertained the troops in Germany and especially loved entertaining the United States Air Force and Army.


Samuel enjoyed his home in Davenport, NY and loved decorating, painting and creating a very colorful home. He also loved the company of his German Shorthair Pointers.


Samuel is survived by his wife, Pamela Slovinsky of Davenport; his son, Zachary Slovinsky of Los Angeles, CA; and several nieces and nephews.


He was predeceased by his parents; a brother, Sam; and two sisters, Annie and Goldie.


A graveside service will be held Monday November 23, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Ferndale Cemetery 545 N. Perry Street, Johnstown NY.


There will be no calling hours.
