Ten years was all too brief to share with our precious Scottie. He was the center of our world. Although his life was often difficult, the pure and untainted beauty of his soul continued to light our days until his passing on May 3, 2010.
Scottie, being his adorable self, was always able to wrap everyone around his little finger. Even though Scottie never spoke, he told us all we needed to know with his eyes and tone of his vocalizations. We will miss that sweet voice of his, his radiant smile and yes, even his furrowed brow. It was our pleasure in life to bring him joy and comfort. Among his favorite things were having his back scratched or his bottom patted. If you stopped too soon, he would roll onto his back and look at you with mischief in his eyes to tell you to keep patting. We would. He loved being tickled, our reward would be a deep belly laugh that made our hearts soar. Scottie loved being rocked and held close. He loved stories and music and we delighted in watching him roll his first Yantzee last week at school during his adapted math class. Scottie, you were gentle and strong, sweet and precious and we are so grateful to have had our time with you. You've taught all who knew you the power of love. Rest baby, and suffer no more.
Scottie is survived by his mother and father, Michele and Jerry Pondolfino; siblings, Jackie and Zachary Pondolfino; maternal grandmother, Valerie Barry; paternal grandfather, Bob Pondolfino Sr.; many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Our sincerest gratitude to the outstanding doctors, nurses and staff at Child and Adolescent Healthcare for their lifelong support of our family and to the staff at Springbrook for the beautiful care and love they showered upon Scottie.
