ONEONTA - Sherry M. Springett, 76, went to be with the Lord, Sept. 23, 2024, she was at Bassett Medical Center, Cooperstown.

Born Feb. 9, 1948, in Oneonta, the daughter of Lyle and Georgia (Wilber) Springett, Sherry attended the Helen Keller Institute and graduated from Gilbertsville High School in 1967.

She worked on the production line at the ARC Workshop on Browne Street in Oneonta and retired from there. She was a valued employee, with many friends and receiving several awards during her career. Sherry was a member of the West End Community Baptist Church, Oneonta. She was happiest when she was independent and felt as though she was contributing to her job, to others at church and at home. Sherry loved the memories contained in her pictures. Sherry will be missed by her friends and the staff at the ARC Jefferson House in Oneonta where she spent many happy years.

She is survived by her cousins, Alan and Karen Springett, her friend, Ron Howard and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; and siblings, Gary, Lyle Jr., Rosalie and Keith; and friend, Joan Howard.

A graveside service will be at noon, Tuesday, Oct. 1, in the Cook Cemetery in West Oneonta, with the Rev. Keith VanDewerker, officiating
