Schenevus

Shirley J. Schoeberl, 86, passed away surrounded by her family on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at Bassett Medical Center.

She was born on April 17, 1937 in Endicott, NY, the daughter of Richard and Emilie (Faivrie) Griswold.

Shirley moved to Schenevus in 1964 after marrying Franz Schoeberl.  He predeceased her on July 18, 1987.

She was a member of St. Joseph's Church in Worcester and past president of the Altar Rosary Society.

Shirley was a receptionist at A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital for 40 years.

She is survived by her sons, Michael Schoeberl and his wife, Candy of Brockport and Jeffrey Schoeberl and his wife, Tina of Worcester; her grandchildren, Frank, Jacob and Elyza; 4 sisters, LaVanche Millard, Bernita Griswold, Sandra Tuttle and her husband, Clifford and Myrna Thayne and her husband, Patrick; many nieces and nephews; and good friends, Carol and Jake and Liz and Joan.

She was predeceased by her sister, Bernice Warfle and her brother, Richard Griswold.

A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 17, 2024 at St. Joseph's Church, 201 Main Street, Worcester, with the Rev. Joseph Arockiasomy as celebrant.  A reception will follow in the church social hall.

Burial will take place at a later date in Schenevus Cemetery.

At Shirley's request there will be no calling hours.
