Obituary

Duanesburg – Stanley J. Pierce, 94, formerly of Worcester, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on October 2, 2021.

He was born Stanley Pirc, the son of Joseph and Jennie (Yuvan) Pirc on January 5, 1927 in Queens, NY.  Stanley changed his last name to Pierce in 1963.

He was a United States Navy veteran, serving in World War II.

Stanley married Katherine O'Keefe in Detroit, Michigan.  She predeceased him.

He was a plumber in Albany, then went onto work for the Local 200 Plumbers Union in Long Island.  He also worked as a section hand on the D&H Railroad.

Stanley was a member of the East Worcester Fire Department, American Legion, a snowmobiler and was a Scout Master for 7 years.

He is survived by his son, Daniel (Diana) Pierce; grandchildren, Francesca, Tyler and Zhenya; his sister, Vera Head; nephews, Tom, Richard, Edward and Robbie and their families; and his beloved companion, Carolyn Bemis and her family.

There will be no calling hours.

The funeral mass will be Noon, Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Main St., Worcester, with the Rev. Joseph Arockiasamy as celebrant.

Burial with military honors will follow at the Maple Grove Cemetery, Worcester.
