ONEONTA - Steven Anthony Milavec, 58, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 4, 2007 at Albany Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on May 2, 1949 in Cooperstown, the son of Anthony and Carolyn (Bulson) Milavec.
He is survived by his life partner Rosalie Higgins, his two daughters Stacy (Steven) Scott of Endicott and Kacy (Pete) Tavarone of Oneonta; his brother Bruce (Sandra) Milavec; his sister Cynthia (James) Seward. He dearly loved his grandchildren Spencer and Mitchell Scott, Emma and Kyler Tavarone, Cameron Critti, and Abby and Erin Higgins. Survivors also include Brian and Lisa Higgins; niece Loren Seward; nephew Ryan Seward; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Steve worked for 35 years at the Wilber National Bank, Oneonta, where he was a Senior Vice President.
He was a graduate of SUNY Cobleskill and served on advisory councils for both his alma mater and SUNY Delhi.
He was a member of B.P.O.E. Lodge 1312, the Harley Owners Group, American Legion Riders and a life member of the National Rifle Association.
Steve enjoyed the outdoors, hiking, hunting, target shooting with his grandsons, baking cookies with his granddaughter and riding his Harley with Rosalie. He will be dearly remembered, forever missed and always loved by his family and friends.
With his death, Steve gave the gift of life to 6 people through organ donation. Steve's family would encourage everyone to consider being an organ donor.
Calling hours will be held 5 to 8 p.m., Monday, May 7, 2007 at the Lewis, Hurley & Pietrobono Funeral Home, Oneonta. The Lodge of Sorrows will be at 8 p.m.
A remembrance service will be 1 p.m., Tuesday, May 8, 2007 at the funeral home. All are welcome to share a memory of Steve.
