Obituary

Stuart W. Thomas Sr., 95, of Worcester NY, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2021.

He was a World War II United States Navy Veteran as a member of the Armed Guard. His Career spanned many years as a Draftsman, Industrial Aerospace Engineer, an avid woodworker, traveler and loving father of 3, grandfather to 5 and great grandfather to 15 who are spread out all over the world. He is predeceased by his loving wife Katherine of 52 years, who also loved the great outdoors alongside him. He was an avid Sportsman and Nature Conservationist, who enjoyed all that Nature has to offer as well as an avid lover of all breeds of dogs, especially German Shorthair Pointers. Beginning in the late 1940's, he was a founding member of a large Rod & Gun Club on Long Island, NY whose members strongly believe in Nature Conservation and Renewal, Life Member of the NRA, past Worcester, NY Town Supervisor, Past American Legion Commander in Worcester, past member of the Knights of Columbus and a cherished friend to many.

There will be visitation from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 18th, 2021 at Heller & Skinner Funeral Home located at 155 Main Street, Worcester, NY 12197. Please wear a face cover and be prepared to possibly wait to enter the building.  Interment will be in the Spring with Military Honors at gravesite.

In lieu of flowers, the Family asks that donations be made in his memory to the NRA at 877-NRA-GIVE, NRA.ORG or to the Colon Cancer Foundation of NY at https://www.coloncancerfoundation.org or to any Nature Conservation Organization.
