Obituary

SCHENEVUS – Susan E. Gibson Egloff, 90, died Sunday, October 18, 2015 at her home with her family.

She was born June 28, 1925 in White Plains, the daughter of Richard and Charlotte (Fiborg) Gibson.

She was the wife of Charles G. Egloff, Sr. (deceased) and the loving mother of Charles G. Egloff, Jr., Ronald Egloff (Donna), Susan C. Egloff (John), Richard Egloff, Liza Mundy (Don) and Barbara Cage (Bill); also survived by her sister, Mae Fischbeck of Delaware, seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, several nieces and one nephew.


She was predeceased by her two sisters, Ingrid Allen and Ann Kuhnel and a great-grandson, Christopher Rumovicz.


During World War II she worked for Eastern Aircraft and later in life, for Katonah-Lewisboro School District as a bus driver.


Susan and her family loved the 40 years they spent at their home on Lake Kitchawan in South Salem. She particularly enjoyed long walks with her children and swimming at the lake. In 1987 they brought a home in Worcester and later relocated to Schenevus. She attended the Schenevus United Methodist Church and Young at Heart. Susan was an avid gardener, enjoyed arts and crafts, playing Bridge, being a homemaker and caring for her family.



A celebration of life service will be 2 pm, November 7, 2015 at the Heller & Skinner Funeral Home, 155 Main St., Worcester, with the Rev. Kathy Brumbaugh officiating.


Interment will be at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Worcester.
