Susan
Hallahan
May 6, 1961 – July 20, 2025
WORCESTER - Susan Elizabeth Davis Hallahan, 64, passed away suddenly in her home on the morning of July 20, 2025, after years of battling COPD and lung cancer with raw determination and valor.
She was the devoted wife of William Thomas Hallahan III. Together they shared decades of partnership, celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary this past March. Born in Jamaica, Queens, Susan was the third daughter of William and Lillian Davis. She grew up on Waltham Street, surrounded by friends she carried with her through life.
Her creativity led her into cosmetology, where she flourished as a talented hairdresser. Later, she embraced her role as a stay-at-home mother. After moving to Worcester, she found joy working at the Worcester Market, forming lasting connections in the community and leaving a mark on everyone who crossed her path.
Mama Sue loved gardening, music, and watching the sun set across the horizon. But her greatest joy was her grandson, Billy, known affectionately as "B5". Nothing lit her face like the sound of his voice. As "Nannie," she poured her heart into every moment with him; from planning activities, to sharing wisdom, and wrapping him in endless love.
Known for her fierce spirit, quick wit, and generosity, Susan was the undeniable heart of her family. She had a quick tongue when it was needed, never afraid to speak her mind, and made sure nobody left her house hungry. Her strength was not quiet; it was visible, unshakable, and always in service to the people she loved.
Susan is survived by her husband, William Thomas Hallahan III; her children, William IV, Thomas, Stephanie, and Bridget; her grandson, William Thomas Hallahan V; and her daughter-in-law, Dani. She is also survived by her sisters, Judy, Kathy, and Jeannie, along with her nieces, nephews, cousins, many dear friends and her two loyal companions, Black and Brandi, who provided comfort and companionship to the very end.
She is reunited in heaven with her parents, her beloved brother-in-law Scott Hallahan, her in-laws Helen and Stanley Jakubowski, her Aunt Helen, as well as extended family and friends that are no less cherished than those named here.
Susan's legacy is one of resilience, devotion, and love that never wavered. She was a fighter to the end, but she will be remembered just as much for the way she filled rooms with laughter, stubborn honesty, and the kind of strength that made others braver. She is free now from pain, and the courage and vitality she carried through her life will continue to guide and inspire all who knew her.
Visitation will be held at Heller & Skinner Funeral Home, 155 Main Street, Worcester, NY from 11:30 am to 2 pm on Sunday October 26, 2025, with a prayer service at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Joseph Arockiasamy.
The family thanks you for your kindness, consideration and especially your prayers during this time of loss, and invites you to remember Susan with joy, as she will live on forever in those who loved her.
