EAST WORCESTER – Sylvia A. Schaefer, 66, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, June 23, 2009.
She was born January 5, 1943 in Nyack, the daughter of Nicholas P. and Edith I. (Risch) Dezago.
Sylvia married William W. Schaefer on May 23, 1964 in Nyack.
She and her family moved to East Worcester in 1981 from Northvale, NJ.
She work for Fargo Securities in Milford as a dispatcher and was the proprietor of Boots Place in East Worcester, as well as being a homemaker.
Sylvia was a former member of the East Worcester Fire Department. She loved NASCAR and the Yankees.
She is survived by her husband, William Schaefer of East Worcester; two daughters, Dawn and Matt Davis of Cobleskill and Lori and James Baker of East Worcester; three grandchildren, Nicole and Heather Baker and Elijah Davis; and a special sister, Veronica Happel of Rockleigh, NJ.
She was predeceased by her parents and an infant brother.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the East Worcester First Responders, PO 781, East Worcester, NY 12064 or to the Worcester Emergency Squad, PO Box 191, Worcester, NY 12197.
