WELLS BRIDGE – Tanya M. Naples, 32, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 6, 2008 at A.O.Fox Hospital following a long and courageous battle with breast cancer and Hodgkin's lymphoma.
She was born June 29, 1976 in Sayre , PA , the daughter of Richard and Marjorie (Oliver) Stevens. She grew up in Spencer, NY and was a graduate of Candor High School , Class of 1994, and Hartwick College in Oneonta, where she received a B.A. in Biology.
Tanya was employed at A.O. Fox Hospital in Oneonta, as a laboratory technician, for 8 years, where she was known and loved by everyone. She enjoyed life to the full and had many friends. Some of her many hobbies included crafts, sewing, and gardening.
It was at Fox that Tanya met her husband, Dale Naples. They were married on September 27, 2003 at St. James' Church in Waverly, NY. Thereafter they attended St. John's Catholic Church in Bainbridge.
Tanya was a devoted wife and mother. She is survived by her beloved husband, Dale, and their adored children, Owen (4), Gianna(2) and Isaac (1); her parents, Robert and Marjorie Cummings of Spencer; stepsisters, Theresa, Tammy, Erica and Bobbi-Jo; father-and-mother-in-law, Michael and Jean Naples of Oneonta; brothers-in-law, Brian, Timothy, David and Anthony; grandmother-in-law, Philomena Naples of Oneonta and grandfather, Cordyce Cummings of Watertown; as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was predeceased by her father, Richard Stevens.
Calling hours will be from 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at the Lewis, Hurley & Pietrobono Funeral Home, 51 Dietz Street, Oneonta.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. , Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 39 Walnut St. in Oneonta, with the Reverend Robert Dywer of Bainbridge as the celebrant, Reverend Joseph Benintende as con-celebrant, and assisted by Deacon Timothy Naples.
Interment will follow at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Emmons.
