ONEONTA – Thelma (Teddy) Pidgeon, 81, passed away on Friday, March 26, 2010 at the A.O. Fox Nursing Home in Oneonta.
She was born November 4, 1928 in Oneonta, the daughter of Walter and Hazel (McMeilly) Ferguson.
Teddy married Ronald Pidgeon on August 14, 1948 in Oneonta. He predeceased her on October 16, 2009.
She worked for Sears Roebuck & Co. in Oneonta for many years.
She was a member of the Catskill Fly Fishing Center and Museum in Roscoe, NY. Teddy enjoyed fly fishing, camping and hunting. She especially enjoyed traveling out west with Ron on their summer fishing trips.
She is survived by two brothers-in-law, Jack and Jean Emmett of South Edmeston and Gordon and Ann Emmett of Uniondale; nieces and nephews, Lynn Emmett, Ronnie and wife, Laura Emmett, Shelly Emmett, Gary Emmett, Rebecca Emmett-Fraser, Joe Pidgeon,
Marlene Pidgeon, Darlene Pidgeon-Lance, Gregory Molatch, Steven Molatch, Walter Molatch, Andy Molatch, Barbara Molatch-Yano, Dedria Cox, Shirlene Burnside, Dennis Pidgeon, Sam Pidgeon, and Cherie Starling; many great-nieces and great-nephews; a dear cousin, Jane Kinne; as well as other cousins.
She was predeceased by an aunt, Mildred (Roxy) Perry; a brother-in-law, Gerald Pidgeon and sister-in-law, Joyce Molatch.
Calling hours will be held at the Lewis, Hurley & Pietrobono Funeral Home, Oneonta on Thursday, April 1, 2010 from 11 a.m. to the service at Noon, with the Rev. Alex Smith, pastor of the Capital District International Church in Albany, officiating.
Interment will be at the Ouleout Valley Cemetery in Franklin.
