ONEONTA – Thomas G. Rowley, 88, passed away July 24, 2012 peacefully at home.
He was born April 21, 1924 in New York City, the son of George and Margaret (Kennedy) Rowley.
Tom was a United States Army Air Force veteran serving during World War II as a Communication Chief.
He was employed at the Daily Star as an editor for many years and at one time was an editor in chief at the Freeman's Journal.
He was a member of the Oneonta American Legion Post 259.
Tom is survived by a daughter, Marta Griffith of North Carolina and her two children, Jodi and Chad; a daughter, Karen Rowley-Christopher and her husband, Ken Christopher of New York and a daughter, Laura Fischer of California.
Interment will take place at the Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
