Obituary

Oneonta – Timothy J. Traynor, 89, passed away at home with his family on July 16, 2022.

He was born April 30, 1933 in the Bronx, the son of Hugh and Mary (Sullivan) Traynor.

He was a United States Navy veteran, serving on the U.S.S. Tarawa CV-40.

Tim was a longtime Long Island resident.  He was an original member with Company 1 West Babylon Volunteer Fire Department.

Tim was a self-employed contractor, who built many homes on Long Island.  He was also the owner of Mex-Italia Tile Corp. in Florida.   He lived in both Florida and South Carolina before moving to Oneonta 3 years ago.  Tim was an avid skydiver, boater, and over all a lover of the sea.

He is survived by his children, Stephen (Diane) Traynor of Jupiter, FL, Joan (Walter) Imperatore of Wellington, FL, James (Melissa) Traynor of Remsenberg, William Traynor of Oneonta, and Kathleen Traynor of Oneonta; grandchildren, Christie (Ronnie) Traynor-Walker, Michelle Traynor, Brittany Traynor, Briana Traynor, Paul Fannon, Christopher Hilding, Jake Imperatore, Katherine Imperatore, Carly Traynor, Ryan Traynor, Kelly Traynor and Liam Traynor; a great-grandchild, Lennon Fannon; and by his beloved dog, Loulou.

He was predeceased by his parents; aunt Veronica Maher; his first wife and mother of his children, Carol Ann Traynor; his second wife, Bernice Traynor; his children, John Patrick Traynor, Timothy Traynor Jr. and Ann Marie Traynor Hilding.

Services will be private with family at a later date.
