On December 20, 2025, daughter to Diane, Trisha Doherty joined her siblings Passion Sass and Edwin Baez and her adopted father Edward in heaven.

Adopted at 2 years old from an institution Trisha, born with Down's syndrome and a congenital heart condition, was given only a few years of life expectancy.

Despite this predicted fate, Trisha lived life like no other. She loved nursery rhymes, had a boisterous laugh, gave hugs that could harm small children, was as stubborn as iron and willed herself to live another 45 years.

she is survived by her mother, Diane; siblings, Kelly Verret, Tracy McCormick, Edward Doherty, Gary Doherty, Terry Brulawski, Raymond Doherty, Korry Groves, Thomas Doherty, Christopher Doherty, Eric Doherty. Rita Doherty, and Shawn Doherty; many nieces and nephews; as well as her friends and family at Springbrook.

I'd like to say that Trisha was blessed to live in a family that loved her and supported her which is all true. But the truth is that we were blessed to have received Trisha into our lives. Her boundless amounts of joy and love despite all her obstacles taught us all we needed to know to live purpose filled lives. That as long as we lead with an open and loving heart we do not need much in this life to truly experience it fully and deeply.

A funeral service will be 5 p.m. Friday, January 2, 2025 at Lewis, Hurley & Pietrobono Funeral Home, 51 Dietz St., Oneonta, with the Rev. Michael Cambi officiating.
