Obituary

WORCESTER – Ulah V. Horning, 92, went to be with the Lord Wednesday,
December 3, 2008 at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born November 20, 1916 in Cobleskill, the daughter of Grant
and Helen (Ryder) VanBuren.

Ulah graduated from Richmondville School and the Albany Business School.

She married Frederick Lewis Horning in Richmondville on June 23, 1946.

Mrs. Horning retired from the State University College at Oneonta,
where she was a principal stenographer for many years.

She was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Worcester and was a
devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Lewis; two sons, Robert and wife, Janna Horning of North
Carolina and George and wife, Franja Horning of Richmondville;
grandchildren, Jillian Horning, Brian Horning, Justine Fuss, Maxwell
Horning and Kristen Walters; and great grandchildren, George Lewis
Horning, Sage and Lyla Walters.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, December 8 2008
at the Second Baptist Church, Worcester, with the Rev. Judith A.
Thistle, pastor, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Catskill Area
Hospice and Palliative Care, 1 Birchwood Dr., Oneonta, NY 13820.
