INDIAN LAKE - Virginia M. Korenyik, age 82, of Indian Lake, NY, passed away Monday, April 16, 2012, at M. I. Bassett Hospital, Cooperstown, NY.

She was born May 29, 1929, in Upper Saddle River, NJ, the daughter of John Frederick Filer and Edna M. (Eckerson) Filer. On December 18, 1949, Virginia married Tibor L. Korenyik in the Old Stone Church, Upper Saddle River, NJ.

Besides her parents, Virginia was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Tibor; her son, Theodore; her son, Timothy; brother, James Filer; and sister, Margaret Litchult.

Virginia is survived by her son, Thomas Korenyik, of Indian Lake; her daughter, Cathy Korenyik, of Oneonta; grandchildren, Jeanne Clark, Kathryn Clark and fiancé, Timothy Christman, Sarah (Korenyik) Hoefling and her husband, Cory; Daniel Korenyik, and Joseph Korenyik.

At Virginia's request, there will be no calling hours or funeral service. Friends and family are welcome to attend a graveside service at 11 a.m. Friday, April 20, 2012 at Evergreen Cemetery, Otego, NY, with the Rev. Bernard Osei Ampong of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Oneonta, NY, officiating.
