Oneonta - Vivian W. Hamwey, 86, passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at the Otsego Manor.

She was born on March 16, 1928 in Stamford, the daughter of Herman and Hazel (Ahl) Weideman.

Vivian married Charles Hamwey in 1979. He predeceased her in 2000. She was a member of the 1st United Methodist Church in Oneonta. Vivian enjoyed her grandchildren dearly. She also enjoyed painting, baking and gardening.

She is survived by her daughter JoAnn (Munson) Kohland; her granddaughters Kristina Abell of Oneonta and Kim Manellius of Rochester; her great grandchildren Dustin Freeman of Cooperstown, Craig Manellius of Rochester and Jacob Manellius of Rochester; her great great grandchild Connor Freeman of Cooperstown; her sister Marilyn Jenkins of Sherburne; her brothers, Carl Weideman of Chenango, Merrit Weideman of Florida and Douglas Weideman of Texas and her great niece, Brenda Burger of Cooperstown.

A graveside service will be held at the Glenwood Cemetery at a later date.
