ONEONTA – Vivian H. Miller, 95, passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2009 at the Oneonta Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
She was born April 30, 1913 in Oneonta, the daughter of John and Minnie (Bird) Houck.
She married Donald C. Miller, who predeceased her on September 22, 1978.
Mrs. Miller was employed for the Gordon B. Roberts Agency in Oneonta, as the first secretary in the office, retiring in 1974.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Oneonta. Mrs. Miller enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting and cooking.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathy and husband, Frank Microni of Oneonta; grandchildren, Frank D. and wife, Jeanine Microni, Greg Microni and Kim and husband, Richard Platt, all of Oneonta; great-grandchildren, Taylor and Aubry, Cole and Abbie; and was predeceased by great-grandson, Trevor; also surviving, a sister-in-law, Helen Houck of Oneonta and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her sister, Ruth and husband, Donald Trinkino; and three brothers, Linus Houck, Richard Houck and John Houck Jr.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, February 20, 2009 at the Lewis, Hurley & Pietrobono Funeral Home, Oneonta, with the Rev. Theresa Sivers, pastor at the First United Methodist Church, officiating.
Interment at the Oneonta Plains Cemetery will be held at later date.
