WORCESTER - Wallace M. Conover Sr., 88, passed away on December 1, 2015.
Wallace was born June 9, 1927 in Spring Lake Hgts. N.J. He graduated from the Newark School of Fine Industrial Arts, and the Pratt Institute of Fine Art. For many years he was a commercial artist and school bus driver in Wall Twp. N.J. He worked as a display artist for Sears in Asbury Park, N.J. where he met and married his wife of 63 years, Nila. From 1971-1989, Wallace was the owner of the successful equestrian business Windward Farm of Wall, N.J. He also served during WWII in the Navy and was stationed in the Pacific Tour.
Wallace was predeceased by his parents, Grandin and Florence Conover; son, Jeffrey Conover; two brothers, Horace and Arthur, and two sisters, Helen and Louise.
He is survived by his loving wife, Nila Conover of Worcester, N.Y; daughter, Sally Schwab of Blacksburg, S.C.; sons, Wallace M. Conover Jr. and his spouse, Wayne L. Peiser of Howell, N.J., Brant Conover and his wife, Carol of Worcester, N.Y. and Timbrook Conover of Decatur, N.Y.; four grandchildren, Drew Conover and wife, Lorie of Utica, N.Y., Travis Conover of Red Bank, N.J., Gayle Penneger and husband, Matt of Gaffney, S.C., and Theresa Torgensen of Decatur, N.Y. and two great grandchildren, Elise and Lilly Conover of Utica, N.Y.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. on Saturday December 19, 2015 at Spirit and Truth Christian Assembly, 2888 County Hwy. 8, West Oneonta, N.Y.
A second memorial service will be held on Saturday January 16, 2016 with visiting hours 10 am - Noon with a remembrance service at Noon, at O'Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy. 35, Wall, N.J.
