Obituary

Warren E. McPhail (Ed), 73, of Norwich passed away on January 12, 2022 at his home with the help of Hospice and surrounded by family.

Ed was predeceased by his father, Warren E. McPhail, Sr., his mother, Mary Emma (Jacobs) McPhail and his sister, Carroll (McPhail) Sousa.

He is survived by his sisters, Connie (McPhail) Petit and Bill, and Cathy (McPhail) Saito and Ted; his loving wife and friend of 40 years, Jana McPhail; his children and grandchildren: daughter, Jennifer Luchetti and Gino; son, Ryan McPhail and Kimberly along with their children, Lexi and Luke; son, Christopher Coombs and Kim along with their children, Arron and wife, Erika, Ashley and Hunter; son, Joshua Coombs and Angela along with their children, Evan, Leah, and Cadence; son, Michael McPhail and Kyle; his beloved dog Teddie; brothers-in-law, Lyle Morrison and Randy Morrison,  as well many nieces, nephews and several dear friends.

Ed spent many years rebuilding a home in Sidney to make it a beautiful home for his family, where he lived for 35 years before moving to Norwich in 2019.

He worked for GGS from York, PA as a Technical Writer for commercial and military planes. He loved what he did there.

He loved life and had many hobbies including glass work, crafting wood items and was an avid military plane buff. He also had an extensive collection of model trains. He was known to always be a huge supporter of his kids and grandkids at sporting events or any of their other events and accomplishments.

There will be no funeral but the family will host a "Celebration of Life" on Saturday, February 5, 2022 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at, 5336 County Road 32, Norwich.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to Chenango County Hospice, St. Jude's Children's Hospital or the SPCA in his honor.
