Obituary

Worcester – William J. "Bill" Greene, 82, passed away peacefully June, 11, 2008.

He was born February 2, 1926 in Astoria, NY, the son of William and Margaret (Burke) Greene.

Bill was a resident of the Worcester area for more than 18 years after his retirement.

Bill was a heavy construction operating engineer for local 14-14B. They constructed everything from tunnels to high rise structures in the New York City area. He retired from local 14-14B and was a member in good standing for 50 years.

He was a World War II veteran and a member of the Worcester American Legion Post 1584.

Bill was an avid outdoorsman; his hobbies include hunting, fishing, camping and spending time with Mother Nature. When they moved to Worcester he left behind his other love "The Old Goose" his boat.

Bill is survived by his loving wife, Joan of 30 years; three sons, William, John and wife, Veronica, David and wife, Melanie; a daughter, Barbara and husband, Craig Harris all of California; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several close nieces and nephews.

Bill was predeceased by two sisters, Gertrude and Ruth.

At Bill's request he was cremated, services will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
