March 2, 1962 – October 9, 2021
William (Willie) H. White, 59 of Sprakers, NY passed away on October 9, 2021 after a long courageous battle with cancer.
He was born in Decatur, NY on March 2, 1962 to Stuart and Elizabeth White, who predeceased him as well as his sister, Janice White.
Willie graduated from Worcester Central School in 1981. Then went on to college and graduated from SUNY, Cobleskill in 1983. He worked at Greenleaf for over 20 plus years in Schenevus, NY. Then went on to work at NA Taylors in Johnstown NY for over 10 years. When he sustained a leg injury which led to having his leg amputated and could no longer work.
Willie married his best friend, Carol Terrell on October 24, 1987. Willie loved his family. He is survived by his two sons, Christopher and Jason White of Sprakers, NY. He is also survived by 7 brothers and 7 sisters, he shared his life with, Ross and Mary White of Maryland, Orrin and Dina White of Florida, Stuart and Sue White of West Virginia, Raymond and Carol White of Charlotteville, NY, Phil and Cindy White of Charlotteville, NY, Jeff and Yvonne White of Decatur, NY, Mike and Debbie White of West Virginia., Pearl and Edwin Madison of Davenport, NY, Mary White of Worcester, NY, Della White of Davenport, NY, Angeline White of Davenport, NY, Edith White of Decatur, NY, Melissa Werby of Florida and Alice and Duane Tripp of Madison, NY along with many nieces and nephews.
Willie was an avid hunter in his younger years. He loved the great outdoors and planting a garden which he shared with family and friends. Willie loved to take Carol dancing. It was one of their most favorite things to do. He loved planting flowers for Carol in a wishing well he built for her, which she treasures. He enjoyed helping his boys as they grew up.
Willie was usually quiet, except for his many stays in the hospital. He always tried to help the nurses and doctors have a good day. We would like to thank all his doctors, especially Dr. Luyun, Dr. Rassias and all of his nurses especially Lisa VanWormer at St. Peter's Cancer Center. Also, his primary doctor, Dr. Sinchak at St. Mary's Health Center and all the care Mountain Valley Hospice provided of Gloversville, NY.
We would like to thank both the Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home in Canajoharie, NY and Heller & Skinner Funeral Home in Worcester NY for all their support during this time.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. to the Funeral Service at Noon, Saturday, October 16, 2021 at the Heller & Skinner Funeral Home, 155 Main St., Worcester, with the Rev. Paul Timmerman officiating. Please wear a mask. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Worcester.
