UNADILLA – William Frederick Kuhr, 83, passed away Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at Chestnut Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Oneonta.
He was born July 15, 1929 in Vici, Oklahoma, the son of William and Frieda (Groteluschen) Kuhr.
He married Beverly Ruth Wheeler on December 21, 1952 at the Main Street Baptist Church in Oneonta.
William worked for Una-Lam for 34 years as an estimator, retiring in 2002. He loved farming and loved watching his crops grow. He and his wife enjoyed square dancing. William looked forward to spending time at the St. Lawrence River; however, his heart always remained in his beloved state of Nebraska.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly Kuhr of Unadilla; a daughter, Karen (Clement) Murphy of Walton; sons, Ronald (Carol) Kuhr of Argyle and Robert (Theresa) Kuhr of Millersville, TN; grandchildren, Beth (Keith) Chapin, Colleen (Matthew) Cutting, Kimberly Murphy (Robert Kappauf), and Cade Kuhr; 8 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Ann Sheldon of Otego; a brother, James (Joyce) Kuhr of Vestal; a sister-in-law, Louise Kuhr of Arizona; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Richard Kuhr.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, February 9, 2013at the Wells Bridge Baptist Church, 7 Church St., Wells Bridge, with the Rev. David W. Steensma, pastor, officiating.
Interment at the Evergreen Cemetery in Otego will be in the spring.
