William H. Walrath, 84, passed away Monday, January 3, 2011 at the A.O. Fox Memorial Nursing Home in Oneonta.
He was born on July 1, 1926 in Garrattsville, NY; the son of William and Edith (Johnson) Walrath.
William married Marion Sutton. She predeceased him in July of 2009.
He served in the United States Army during WWII from 1945 to 1947.
He worked and retired from the Atlantic Cement Co. in Ravina, NY.
William was a life long area resident who enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and doing crafts.
He is survived by his 2 sons, Gary and Chris Walrath both of Maryland, several grandchildren and great grandchildren; his brother Earl Walrath of Hartwick Seminary and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his daughter Robbon Wilsey.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 1, 2011 at the Maryland Cemetery, with the Rev. Judith Thistle, officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made in loving memory of William to the Catskill Area Hospice and Palliative Care, 1 Birchwood Drive, Oneonta, NY 13820.
